For Hospitality

Websites for restaurants, cafés and takeaways

In hospitality, three things decide whether someone comes: menu, opening hours, booking. Everything else is decoration — and usually in the way.

01 — The situation

How it usually looks

The guest is on the street, hungry, looking at a phone. They want to know whether you are open, what there is and what it costs. If the menu only exists as a PDF that has to load and then be zoomed, they are at the next result. That is not a matter of taste, it is the most common lost order in the sector.

02 — What counts

What matters for hospitality

Menu as text, not as a PDF

A PDF on a phone is the most reliable way to lose a guest. As a normal page the menu is readable immediately, searchable — and Google can read the dishes, which counts when people search for a specific meal.

Opening hours that are correct

Wrong hours are the most common cause of bad reviews. Holiday hours belong both on the page and in the Google listing — Google now actively asks for them.

Booking without a detour

A tappable phone number is enough for most venues. A booking system only pays off once there are regularly more reservations than someone can take by phone.

Photos of the food, not the cutlery

Pictures of your own dishes, not from a stock library. Guests spot the difference instantly — and stock food raises the suspicion that nothing else is fresh either.

The usual mistake

Elaborate homepages with video backgrounds and music. They load slowly, eat data allowance and hide exactly the details someone opened the page for.

03 — Structure

Which pages you need

A workable starting point. Not every point applies to every business — we settle that in the first conversation.

  1. 01Homepage with opening hours and booking
  2. 02Menu as a readable page
  3. 03Directions and parking
  4. 04About us — kitchen, people, history
  5. 05Optional: lunch menu, functions, catering
04 — Example

A platform for restaurants, salons, trades and local businesses: links, offers and menus under one address, with a QR code for the venue.

Multi-tenant with a trade directory, its own design system and admin area — built for the very businesses I also make websites for

Our own product, not client work.

05 — Questions

Frequently asked

We change the menu constantly — can we do that without you?

Yes, that is a prerequisite. You get access where you change dishes and prices yourself. It takes less time than rebuilding the PDF.

Is Instagram not enough?

For pictures yes, for opening hours and the menu no. And you do not own it — a blocked account takes your entire visibility with it. The website is the part that belongs to you.

What about QR codes on the table?

Sensible once the menu is maintained digitally anyway. That is exactly what I run a platform for with LivaLink — so it can be done alongside.

A website for your business?

Describe briefly what you have in mind. You get an honest assessment of effort, duration and cost — and a hint if something else fits better.
