For Law & consulting firms

Websites for law firms, tax advisors and consultancies

Clients do not compare services, they compare trust. Your website decides whether someone calls — or clicks the next firm on the list.

01 — The situation

How it usually looks

People looking for a firm have a concrete problem: a dismissal, an inheritance, a tax audit. They do not search for "lawyer", they search for their case. Most firm websites answer exactly that question the least — they list practice areas and end up interchangeable. Anyone who cannot find their own situation goes back to the results page.

02 — What counts

What matters for law & consulting firms

Focus instead of a full catalogue

Listing twelve practice areas does not read as competence, it reads as arbitrary. Two to four focus areas, each with its own page and in the language clients use — that builds trust and captures the right searches.

Who will handle my case?

With advisory work you buy a person, not a product. Names, photos, background, year of admission — firms without faces come across as letterboxes.

What does the first consultation cost?

The question that makes everyone hesitate. A clear answer — statutory range, flat fee or free — removes the biggest hurdle before the call.

Availability and booking

Clients get in touch in the evening or at weekends, when the problem is on their mind. Booking that works around the clock catches exactly those enquiries.

The usual mistake

Claims that are problematic under professional conduct rules. German lawyers are bound by section 43b BRAO, tax advisors by the StBerG — promises of success, comparisons with colleagues and misleading titles are a well-known target for warning letters. I build the site technically; checking the wording against professional rules stays with you.

03 — Structure

Which pages you need

A workable starting point. Not every point applies to every business — we settle that in the first conversation.

  1. 01Home page with focus areas and first point of contact
  2. 02One page per focus area, in plain language
  3. 03Team with qualifications and admissions
  4. 04How a first consultation works and what it costs
  5. 05Contact, directions and appointment booking
04 — Example

A platform for restaurants, salons, trades and local businesses: links, offers and menus under one address, with a QR code for the venue.

Multi-tenant with a trade directory, its own design system and admin area — built for the very businesses I also make websites for

Our own product, not client work.

05 — Questions

Frequently asked

Are firms allowed to advertise at all?

Factual information about your work is expressly permitted — focus areas, qualifications, process, costs. It becomes problematic with promises of success and comparisons to other firms. When in doubt we phrase it factually; the site loses nothing by it.

Is a separate page per practice area worth it?

Yes, it is the single most effective lever. Someone searching for "employment law dismissal Langenfeld" does not land on a page that names twelve areas at once. One page per focus area answers one search intent — which is exactly how Google reads it too.

Do we need online appointment booking?

It is the strongest single lever if your office is not staffed continuously. Clients write in the evening — if they can pick a slot themselves, they do not call the next firm. The condition is that booking is synced with your calendar.
