Online shops for retailers and manufacturers
With LivaGlow I run a shop of my own — including a product configurator with 3D preview, payment processing and shipping integration. So I know where it actually gets difficult.
How it usually looks
A shop is not a design project but an operating system: maintaining products, processing payments, organising shipping, handling returns, meeting legal obligations. Anyone looking only at appearance notices three months later that the work starts after launch.
What matters for retail & online shops
Product maintenance has to be bearable
If entering one article takes twenty minutes, the shop will not be maintained. Larger ranges need import from a spreadsheet or inventory system.
The payment methods your customers expect
Card, PayPal, invoice, Klarna, Apple and Google Pay. Every missing method costs orders — and card details should never pass through your server, which removes a large part of your liability.
Legally compliant mandatory information
Right of withdrawal, price display with unit price, shipping costs before purchase, order confirmation. That is exactly where warning letters come from — I integrate it correctly, but the texts should come from a provider who carries liability.
Load time on product pages
Every second of delay demonstrably costs orders. For image-heavy ranges that is the biggest lever there is — ahead of the design concept.
A custom build where an off-the-shelf system would have done. If your requirements are standard, Shopify or WooCommerce is cheaper and live sooner — I will tell you that even though I earn less from it. Custom becomes sensible once order logic or a configurator falls outside the norm.
Which pages you need
A workable starting point. Not every point applies to every business — we settle that in the first conversation.

Frequently asked
Shopify or custom built?
A standard range with no particularities: off-the-shelf. Configurable products, unusual order logic or an inventory integration: custom. LivaGlow needed a 3D configurator — hence a custom build there.
Who writes the legal texts?
Not me. Use a provider who carries liability for them and updates them when the law changes — that is the cheapest insurance there is. I integrate them correctly.
What does it cost to run monthly?
Hosting, payment fees and maintenance. Payment fees go straight to the provider and are typically one to three percent per order.
Can you build a configurator?
Yes. At LivaGlow customers design their mug with a live 3D preview — text, photos, placement. The shop is live, you can take a look.
A website for your business?
Describe briefly what you have in mind. You get an honest assessment of effort, duration and cost — and a hint if something else fits better.
