Find what is missing and fix it — properly in the code, without an overlay plugin.
Since 28 June 2025, online shops and booking flows for consumers in Germany must be accessible, unless a micro-enterprise runs them. Accessible means: usable with keyboard and screen reader, readable with poor eyesight, understandable to fill in, without a mouse. The homepage of this website scores 100 out of 100 for accessibility in Lighthouse — after exactly the kind of fixes offered here: contrast, labels, unambiguous links.
What is included
Automated audit as a start
Tools such as Lighthouse and axe find in minutes what can be measured: weak contrast, missing labels, images without alt text, wrong heading order. That is only part of the requirements — useful, but not enough.
Manual testing
The more important part: can you get through ordering or booking with the keyboard alone? Does a screen reader read the steps out understandably? Are form error messages clear? Does the site work at 200 per cent zoom? No tool tests this completely.
A report you can act on
You do not get a hundred-page standards table but a list: what does not work, where, how serious it is and roughly what the fix costs. That lets you decide what comes first.
Implementation
I implement the fixes directly — on sites I built as well as on existing shops in WooCommerce, Shopify or Shopware, as far as the system allows. Where a theme or site builder fundamentally works against the requirements, I tell you instead of patching endlessly.
Accessibility information
Providers who are covered must describe how their service meets the requirements. I supply the technical part of that description. Whether your offer falls under the law at all is a legal question — I do not answer it; lawyers or your chamber of commerce do.
A good fit if
- You run an online shop or booking flow for consumers
- You do not know whether your site meets the BFSG requirements
- You received a warning letter or want to avoid one
When it is not the right choice
I do not install overlay plugins that show an icon with text resizing and a contrast button. They change nothing about missing labels or unusable forms and do not meet the requirements.
Honesty up front saves both sides time — and you money.
What is used — and what you get from it
The benchmark the BFSG follows in practice. The audit checks against these criteria, not by feel.
Lighthouse and axe for what can be measured; keyboard and screen reader for what only a person can judge.
Contrast, labels and structure are fixed in how the page is built. That survives the next update, unlike an overlay on top.
Maintenance - with LivaLink included
Optional and cancellable monthly. Every one of these packages includes LivaLink Business - the subscription alone costs 29 € a month. From 20 € you therefore pay less for maintenance and appointment booking together than for the booking alone.
See LivaLink — appointment booking, contact routes and chat ↗Basic
When you maintain content yourself and only want the technology covered.
- LivaLink Business included - appointment booking, contact routes and chat with your own branding instead of a LivaLink notice (normally 29 € a month)
- Security updates for the system and its extensions
- Daily backup, restore if the worst happens
- Uptime checks - I usually notice an outage before you do
Care
When you would rather hand changes over than make them yourself.
- Everything from Basic
- Content changes: text, images, prices, opening hours - you write me what should change
- Rebuilds of the site structure: new pages, reordering, removing
- Smaller changes are included; anything larger we agree on beforehand
- Reply within one working day
Visibility
When the site should not just run, but keep moving forward.
- Everything from Care
- Ongoing search work: watching rankings, sharpening copy, taking new terms
- Keeping the Google Business Profile and directory listings current
- Building reviews, guided
- A short monthly report: what you are found for and what is next
Without a maintenance agreement your site of course keeps running - you then handle updates yourself, and the regular LivaLink tariff applies.
Frequently asked
Does my website have to be accessible under the BFSG?
If consumers conclude contracts through it and you are not a micro-enterprise, very likely. A purely informational site usually is not covered. The BFSG guide gives an overview; the binding assessment for your case is a legal question.
What does an audit cost?
It depends on scope, mainly on how many different flows there are — ordering, booking, account, forms. It is billed by effort at the hourly rate of €65. You get an estimate first.
Isn’t an accessibility plugin enough?
No. Overlays place controls over the page but change nothing about how it is built. Missing labels and unusable forms stay as they are.
Can you audit shops you did not build?
Yes. The audit works on any website. How much can be fixed afterwards depends on the system — with some themes almost everything, with some site builders very little.
Is my site legally safe afterwards?
It then meets the technical requirements it was tested against. A technical audit cannot promise legal certainty, and I do not promise it either.
