A new website without losing the old one’s Google positions.
In a relaunch it is rarely the design that goes wrong, but the move. Old addresses lead nowhere, pages that brought enquiries disappear, and three months later people wonder why the phone is quieter. A relaunch therefore starts with the old site, not the new one.
Audit before the first draft
I look at your old site in Google Search Console: which pages are found, for which terms, how often people click. Add to that the pages other websites link to and the routes enquiries come in through today. If there is no Search Console access, setting it up is the first step.
Keep, improve, remove
Every old page gets a decision. What is found stays and gets better. What nobody visits can go or is merged with another page. The new site becomes clearer without losing visibility.
A redirect for every old address
If an address changes, the old one permanently redirects to the new one (status code 301). Without that, visitors and Google land on an error page and the site loses what it built up over years. It is the most common relaunch mistake and the easiest to avoid.
Technology that stays fast
At Heizung-TS the old site took six seconds to load; the new one is there in just over a second. Load time is not an end in itself: on a phone, people who have to wait leave.
Launch and the weeks after
After the move I check whether Google picks up the new pages, whether error pages appear anywhere and how the key terms develop. Slight fluctuations in the first weeks are normal. Anything that stays stuck gets fixed.
A good fit if
- Your site is more than five years old or awkward on a phone
- Every change takes days or costs extra
- You are found on Google and do not want to lose that
When it is not the right choice
If only the texts are outdated or images are missing, you do not need a relaunch. Revising the existing site is enough — cheaper and with no risk to your rankings.
Honesty up front saves both sides time — and you money.
What is used — and what you get from it
Short load times and less attack surface, because twenty extensions do not need to be kept up to date. Where a content management system fits better, you get one.
Every old address is listed with its new target, and you get the list. Years later you can still trace where something moved.
Before the move as the basis for decisions, afterwards as a check. You keep the access.

Plumbing and heating service
The old site took six seconds to load. On a phone, people left before anything appeared at all.
Rebuilt, with automated enquiry handling behind the scenes. The site now shows up in just over a second.

Visibility
When the site should not just run, but keep moving forward.
- Everything from Care
- Ongoing search work: watching rankings, sharpening copy, taking new terms
- Keeping the Google Business Profile and directory listings current
- Building reviews, guided
- A short monthly report: what you are found for and what is next
Without a maintenance agreement your site of course keeps running - you then handle updates yourself, and the regular LivaLink tariff applies.
Frequently asked
What does a website relaunch cost?
Roughly the same as a new website of the same size: a web presence from €1,690, a custom website from €3,900. Plus the audit and redirect plan — a few hours at the hourly rate of €65 for small sites, more for large ones. I give a fixed price after looking at the old site.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Short fluctuations after a move are normal. Lasting losses almost always come from missing redirects or removed content, which is exactly what the audit prevents. Nobody serious guarantees specific positions, and neither do I.
Can I keep my domain?
Yes, and usually you should. Changing domains is possible but an additional risk to visibility and needs the same care with redirects.
What happens to my email addresses?
Nothing, if the move is planned properly. Website and email depend on different records of the domain. Only the website records are changed; those for your mailbox stay untouched.
Do I have to rewrite all my texts?
No. What is good and gets found I carry over and revise where needed. I write new texts where they are missing and send them to you for approval.
Website relaunch for your business?
Describe briefly what you need. You get an honest estimate of effort, duration and cost — and a hint if something else fits better.
